Obituary – Margaret Jackette Orlando

Formerly of Heritage Hills died peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Rockland Place, Wilmington, DE. Born in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lillian Jackette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Orlando, her daughter, Marlene Gagliardi, her two sisters Genevieve Rusnack and Helen Perkins and her brother, Joseph Jackette and her special friend, Mario Pandolfi.

Margaret worked for many years in the finance and accounting fields. Her travels took her throughout the USA including Alaska and Hawaii, Bermuda, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Mexico and Austria.

Margaret’s indomitable and lively spirit and her wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She will be especially missed by her daughter, Susan Nilstoft Dobraniecki and her husband, Stephen. Her four grandsons, Brian Nilstoft and his wife, Laura of Hockessin, DE; Erik Nilstoft of Fort Collins, CO; John Gagliardi and his wife, Christine of Wingdale, NY; James Gagliardi and his wife, Jessica of North Brunswick, NJ; the joy of her life , five great grandchildren: Emma and Kate Nilstoft; Jenna and Ava Gagliardi and Matthew Gagliardi; her step-grandchildren, Jamie and Ilka Dobraniecki, their children Ethan and Camilla; Lauren Hawkins and her husband David; her sister, Rosemarie Bartko and her many nieces and nephews.

A Mass in her honor will be held at 11:30 am, March 21 at St. Joseph’s in Croton Falls, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s School, 204 Hawthorne Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10705.
